The Loneliness of Madmen

The turn of the seasons
Drove me back inside.
I spent all my days at a table
Attempting to memorize
All the magic in your eyes.

The days are consistent
For week they're the same;
A ceiling of purple and blue
That is constantly threatening rain.
Wake up at day find night
Still reins.

While sleep starts to take me
And lights turn to stars
The spell of the sea lazily
Drags me down
'Til I'm past my knees.
Can almost hear the night
Say please.

Sleep and I'll wake you.
Don't go near the door.
Don't leave me alone anymore
I can't take it
I'm near the end.
The loneliness of madmen.
